El dúo de perfumes intensos Oud Immortel y Accord Oud de Byredo han sido creados en torno al oud, un tipo de madera que, debido a su uso tradicional en inciensos y perfumes, ha adquirido una gran importancia cultural y cuya existencia se recoge en uno de los textos escritos más antiguos del mundo: los Vedas sánscritos de la India.
Esta madera oscura, oud o madera de agar, posee una fragancia compleja, parecida a la de pocos o como ningún otro ingrediente natural. Oud Immortel es una fragancia amaderada en la que el pachulí y el papiro se mezclan para aportar un toque ahumado con un ligero tono seco.
Las hojas de tabaco y el musgo añaden profundidad y complejidad, mientras que el incienso y el palo de rosa aportan un aroma elegante y ambarado.
